When I bought my first PCP I made the mistake of chasing power numbers and ended up with a gun that was loud, thirsty, and a pain to reseal, so the thing that actually matters is how the rifle behaves after a hundred fills, not on the spec sheet. Reliability lives in the o-rings and the fill valve, and a gun you can strip on the kitchen table with basic tools will stay in service far longer than one needing a specialist. Maintenance is simple: dry air, silicone on the seals, and never store it empty or overfilled. Value comes from barrel quality and a clean trigger, and I would rather spend on good .22 airgun pellets in several weights to test than on a digital gauge that tells me nothing new, though stick to lead pellets if your range allows it because they group more consistently than the alloy stuff. A pinty pcp air rifle was my entry point to learn the fill and shoot rhythm without sinking money into something I might not enjoy, and that trial mattered more than any review. Buy simple, learn your shot count, and upgrade only when you actually hit the limits of the gun.
